Hello, I am Jade K. Clark! I am 21 years old and born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am a current Senior at the University of Cincinnati and am majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a Certificate of Spanish for Service Learning in Social Work and Health Care Services. I am a Cincinnatus Scholar, a Gen-1 member/Ambassador, a University Honors student, and a member of the Speech-Language Pathology Dual Admissions program.
I will graduate from the University of Cincinnati in April 2017and get my Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and then I will advance on and get my Master of Arts Degree in CSD. From there I plan on getting the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) so that I can be a certified Speech-Language Pathologist. I will use my education to practice my profession in an outpatient hospital/elementary school setting with children with communication disorders.
For the 2016-2017 academic year I serve as an executive board member for both of our CSD organizations. I am the President of UC's Chapter of the National Student Speech-Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA). I am also the Vice President of Multicultural Concerns in Communication Sciences and Disorders (MC2). In addition, I am a member of National NSSLHA, the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, and the National Black Association of Speech-Language and Hearing. I have also volunteered in the Speech-Language Pathology Outpatient Division of Cincinnati Children's Hospital, at Parker Woods Montessori in Northside, and also at the UC Early Learning Center. Currently I am volunteering at the Downtown Women, Infants, Children (WIC) office as an interpreter for the Spanish-speaking clients. In addition, I am a member of several UC honoraries and honor societies including The Lambda Society, Cincinnati Women in Excellence and Spirit Together (CWEST), Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society Mystic Thirteen Chapter, and the National Society of Leadership and Success. This year, I am also serving as an Academic Coach in the UC Learning Assistance Center and working as the Student Worker for the College of Allied Health Sciences' Rehabilitation Sciences Department. This past summer, I conducted research under the McNair Scholars Program. If you are interested in learning more about me and what I am doing during my collegiate experience, then please visit any of the tabs to the left!
